The World Speed Motorsports driver tackled three races, secured three podiums, and brought the local community into the paddock during a jam-packed Racing America Trans-Am weekend.
Yana Kapoor, a Formula 4 driver for World Speed Motorsports and a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Illinois, completed a busy schedule at Sonoma Raceway during the Racing America Trans-Am weekend. Competing in three events, Kapoor secured three podium finishes while also taking time to host her sponsors and local community groups at the track.
Weekend Race Results
Kapoor entered the weekend leading the WRS F4 Championship and had a full schedule of both points-paying and exhibition races.

WRS F4 Points Race 1:
Kapoor qualified on pole position for the first WRS class race of the weekend. She drove a steady race to secure a 2nd place finish. -
Formula Libre Event:
Later that afternoon, Kapoor participated in a non-points Formula Libre race. Competing in a mixed field that included nine F4 cars, she earned another 2nd place finish. -
WRS F4 Points Race 2:
In her final F4 points race of the weekend, Kapoor secured another podium finish in the WRS championship.
Her performance at Sonoma keeps her current streak alive, with five podiums across her last five races.
Paddock Tours and Community Outreach
Off the track, Kapoor and World Speed Motorsports hosted her primary sponsor, Auraah New York, at the team’s headquarters. The team also opened their doors to several local groups to share a behind-the-scenes look at a race weekend.

Saturday: Select groups from the Le Pit Club and the East Bay F1 Club were invited for a car and shop tour. Members had the opportunity to learn about the team’s operations, Kapoor’s background, and her sponsor partnerships.

Sunday: Kapoor welcomed the Sonoma Girl Scouts to the track. The troop learned about her journey in motorsport, got to sit in the F4 car, and participated in racing-inspired crafts together. Following the garage visit, the scouts took a tour of the track and stayed to watch the Trans-Am race.
Looking Ahead to Thunderhill
Kapoor, a two-time KA 100cc Junior Champion with global racing experience, continues to build her resume as she focuses on reaching the F1 Academy. Following the double-points weekend at Sonoma, the WRS F4 Championship standings have tightened. Kapoor now sits in second place overall, trailing the championship leader by just a single point.
The team has a short turnaround before their next event. Kapoor will return to the grid for the Thunderhill Open with Formula Awesome, scheduled for May 15th-17th in Willows, California.
